Terms and Conditions

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The Fraud Museum Game and Giveaway is conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Inc. (“ACFE”) and sponsored by Fraud Magazine, 716 West Avenue, Austin, Texas 78701. The Giveaway period will begin on Monday, June 22, 2020, and run through Wednesday, June 24, 2020. By entering you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

  1. TO ENTER. Attendees of the 2020 ACFE Global Fraud Conference can enter by posting correct answers to the questions on the Fraud Museum quiz (located at [web address]) on Twitter while using the hashtag #fraudconf on their post. Entries may be withdrawn by notifying Fraud Magazine at eprimeaux@ACFE.com. Entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. Central Time on June 24, 2020. Only one entry per person. No other form of entry is permitted except as provided above. The ACFE will not be responsible or liable for incomplete, misdirected or late entries.

  2. WINNER. One entrant will be randomly selected to win a $250 gift card. The winner will be randomly drawn from all eligible entries by Monday, June 29, 2020. Odds of winning depend on number of entries received. Winner will be notified by email after the drawing.

  3. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. By entering, entrants release and hold harmless the ACFE, its directors, agents, officers, employees, affiliates and subsidiaries, and their respective directors, agents, officers and employees, from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or any prize won.

  4. SUBSTITUTION OF PRIZES. The ACFE reserves the right to substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason. Winner may waive the right to receive a prize. In the event that a winner so waives their right to receive a prize, or if a winner cannot be contacted by the ACFE within 48 hours of the date and time of selection of that prize, or in the event that a winner is ineligible to win the Giveaway, the ACFE will choose another winner by random selection from all remaining valid entries, and will notify the new winner in the same manner provided above.

  5. ELIGIBILITY. Only attendees of the 2020 ACFE Global Fraud Conference are eligible. The contest is open internationally. Must be 18 years or older to win. Void where prohibited by law. All directors, agents, officers and employees of the ACFE or of any ACFE affiliate or subsidiary are not eligible. Winner may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with contest rules and a liability and publicity release.

  6. TAXES. All taxes and other associated costs and fees on prizes won are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  7. USE OF ENTRANT INFORMATION. By entering, you consent to receive communications from the ACFE containing information and offers designed to assist you in your anti-fraud efforts. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Entry constitutes permission to use winner's name and likenesses in ACFE magazines, newsletters, social media and web pages, and to use winner's name and likenesses for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Except for the foregoing, all information supplied by entrants will be maintained by the ACFE in accordance with its established privacy and confidentiality policies.

  8. GENERAL CONDITIONS. This contest is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. It is void where prohibited by law. The ACFE is not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network server or other connections, miscommunications, failed telephone or computer transmissions, or any other error of any kind whether human, mechanical or electronic. In the event any portion of this contest is compromised by virus, bugs, nonauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of the ACFE, which, in the sole opinion of the ACFE, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the contest, the ACFE reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend or terminate the contest. The ACFE is not responsible for any problem with a contest entry generated by computer hardware or software malfunction, error, or failure, or by any website failure. The ACFE may terminate the contest or modify it in any manner which the ACFE deems fair and equitable to entrants if it becomes aware of any occurrence which would materially affect the contest’s security or fairness. The ACFE may disqualify or prohibit individuals from participating in the contest if they fail to abide by these official rules. The ACFE’s decisions with regard to the contest are final. The winner will be announced in the Conference Recap newsletter on June 29, 2020.
