Charity Poker Tournament Upcoming at ACFE Global Fraud Conference

In-person attendees at the 35th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference can look forward to the full “Viva Las Vegas” experience after an exciting first day of the conference.

Returning once again this year, the ACFE Foundation Charity Poker Tournament will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024. Anyone with a valid ACFE Global Fraud Conference registration, any Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), any associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) or any ACFE member in the Las Vegas area who is over 21 years of age is eligible to participate.

Tournament Rules

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., registration will open at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino for the no limit Texas Hold ’Em tournament. Cash prizes and registrations for next year’s ACFE Global Fraud Conference will be awarded to the highest chip holders at the end of the night. The entry fee is $125 with $100 going directly to the ACFE Foundation to support future grants, endowments and scholarships.

Players will start with $5,000 in tournament chips. If you lose your chips within the first hour of play, a re-entry fee of $100 earns you another $5,000 in tournament chips. The full 100% of the re-entry fee goes directly to the ACFE Foundation.

Due to Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations, registration fees cannot be accepted in advance by the ACFE or its staff. All registrations must be handled upon your arrival at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Transportation will be provided from the ARIA Resort & Casino beginning at 5:30 p.m. This complimentary shuttle will leave the ARIA and run to and from Mandalay Bay until about 8:30 p.m. that night.

House rules apply for the tournament, which consists of 11 levels. Levels 1–10 will last 20 minutes, and participants reaching the final level will have no time limit. There are 10-minute breaks scheduled after rounds three and six, and a short five-minute break before the final table starts.

Support the Anti-Fraud Profession’s Future

Not only will participants get to enjoy Las Vegas alongside fellow conference attendees and ACFE members, but entry fees will benefit future anti-fraud professionals and fund critical research projects that move the industry forward.

The ACFE Foundation was established to support up-and-coming students in their journey to becoming anti-fraud professionals, as well as increase the profession’s shared body of knowledge. Donations to the foundation fund Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarships and academic research grants provided through the ACFE Research Institute.

Since its inception, the ACFE Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to more than 600 incredibly bright and promising students around the world. It has also awarded more than $750,000 in research grants to support academic research on fraud and corruption.

This year’s charity poker tournament is a great way to get in on the fun while you are here in Las Vegas, and it supports a very worthy cause!
